Jason Goodyear is a composer, musician, media artist, and educator who works with music, media, and communication technologies in both real and virtual exhibition and performance venues. He is passionate and proud of his work as an educator. He has designed and taught classes covering topics such as audio production and engineering, audio mixing and mastering, filmsound, field recording, and the integration of software, streaming content, and hardware control with composition, recording, and live performance. He currently teaches at Santa Fe University of Art and Design and Santa Fe Community College. Goodyear holds a degree in anthropology and this study, particularly the practice of ethnographic interviewing, informs his work. A working process that combines this scholarship with his backgrounds in composition and field recording allows him to create pieces that exhibit a sense of collaboration. His work has been heard and seen in festivals and film, intimate venues and galleries, on the internet, and distributed worldwide.
