Tom Adler is a performing songwriter, tunesmith, banjo and guitar player who grew up in Santa Fe, NM where he still resides. Tom’s music related accomplishments include working as a performer, teacher and workshop presenter. He has performed old-time string band music on the banjo for over thirty-three (33) years with the Fast Peso String Band (which won the 1984 Telluride Bluegrass Festival) and has appeared in movies and television, and performed at many local and regional festivals, dances and events. Throughout his career, Tom has performed as a solo performing songwriter and has released three (3) recordings of original songs nationally and internationally, and also a collaborative string band project of original fiddle tunes.

He received Honorable Mentions from both the Billboard and John Lennon Songwriting Contests and national and international airplay and excellent reviews from publications such as Sing Out!, Dirty Linen, Folk Roots, The Old-Time Herald and Banjo Newsletter. Tom also ran a successful series of touring songwriters at Tribes Coffeehouse in 1997-99, worked in the New Mexico Artist-In-Residence Program in schools around the state and is a founding board member of The Santa Fe Bluegrass and Traditional Music Festival. He hosts Folk Remedy, a folk music radio program every Sunday morning on Santa Fe’s independent radio station KSFR 101.1 FM. Tom currently performs with country-folk/rock band Bootleg Prophets.
