Careers in Graphic Design & Digital Arts

Access to professional internships helps unlock the future

Thanks to the help of professional network of our faculty and the fact that Santa Fe is the second-largest art market in the US, the Career Services staff spends their time developing new connections to make sure that you get hands-on experience before you leave campus. Basically, we want to make sure you’re hot stuff before you graduate – and that means working in the industry.

Our students have worked almost anywhere you can think of: from designing newspaper and magazine covers to posters and promotions, doing designs for bands and musicians, and logos for film use. They’ve worked in marketing firms in larger companies, independent book publishers and everywhere in between. For BFA students, your internship is a requirement before you graduate. You get the point: we want you working.

When you choose SFUAD for your design education, you’re not just choosing Santa Fe, NM – you’re choosing Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, London, Paris, and Hong Kong. We have active design relationships across the country, and we send students every year for summer terms and semester stays working in the industry. In the past year, we’ve placed students on the Disney lot in LA, with animation companies and design firms in Chicago, and newspapers and production companies in New York City. We now also have a relationship with Dream Careers, which can send you world wide for your intern experience. We believe in Santa Fe Without Borders so that you can custom-make your arts education to exactly what fits you best.
