Jack Sprague is the Chair of the Graphic Design and Digital Arts Departments at Santa Fe University of Art and Design. He has a 30-year history bridging the theoretical methods of conceptual thinking and the creative process with practical business application. As a practicing art director/designer/photographer/editor he has worked in many aspects of the design/advertising industry, from branding, naming and design to advertising art direction for real estate, fashion, automotive, fine arts and manufacturing. As an educator, Sprague has taught design at institutions around the world, including England, Germany, Mexico, China and Canada, and has spoken as a Professor of Design at many international design conferences. He has won several national and international awards for his design and teaching, including the Golden Orchard Award, a national lifetime achievement award for superior design education. As the Founder and Educational Director of “The Smart Center Santa Fe” in New Mexico, a creative think-tank for practicing and developing business leaders, technologists, artists and educators in all the arts, Sprague is working to build bridges between universities, community colleges, institutions and corporations. His work has been published in Graphis Best of Design, Communication Arts, Print and Archive magazines, among others.
