Over the past decade Luke Dorman has worked in a variety of roles in the design industry with a specific focus on work for the cultural sector. This has included extensive work for the Center for Contemporary Arts, the New Mexico Film Office, the Santa Fe Film Festival and countless other galleries, musicians, and small publications. In his personal work Dorman enjoys synthesizing handmade and computer generated forms with the written word in pursuit of a continually evolving personal visual language. He has both a robust exhibition history for his work including exhibitions at the International Print Center New York, Typeforce Chicago, and the Edinburgh Printmakers Gallery, as well as significant award recognition for his work including awards from Print Magazine, the Society of Typographic Arts, and the New Mexico Music Awards. As an educator Dorman has presented lectures at the Santa Fe Art Institute, the New Mexico Museum of Art and the UCDA Design Education summit and has lead international design workshops at institutions in Costa Rica and Brazil. As an alumni of the College of Santa Fe, Dorman feels especially gratified by the opportunity to remain connected to his alma mater as a teacher in the communication design department.
