Photography Student Accomplishments
Photography student Chelsea Garcia was a finalist for the “Best of College & High School Photography Contest” sponsored by NIKON at the Photographer’s Forum: Magazine for the Emerging Professional.
Student Luke Montavon along with Creative Writing major Arianna Sullivan had a bylined article in The Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper.
Junior Chris Clark was profiled in an article in The Wichita Eagle July 19. He discusses his approach to photography as well as his recent show Adobe Equivalents, which ran at the Murillo Studios & Gallery in Santa Fe this summer.
Seniors Michelle Eckhardt and Helen Maringer created Nectar Magazine, “a fine art and literary magazine that aims to explore a topic in depth through the inclusion of many different media, perspectives, and artists.” The first issue, which debuts at the BFA Senior Thesis exhibition April 27, includes work by 18 SFUAD students and 41 other artists and writers from around the world.
Four seniors—Karen Belton, Michelle Eckhardt, Helen Maringer, and Zoe Townsend—presented their BFA thesis projects at photo-eye Gallery on March 7.
