The Santa Fe Studio Tour 2014 is a free, self-guided tour open to the public that meanders throughout Santa Fe featuring 37 open studios and the work of 58 Santa Fe artists. Many artists give demonstrations of their craft and share techniques and philosophies with visitors.
On Friday June 27, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. the tour begins with a Artists Reception exhibiting artwork by all participating artists. An exhibition will be available throughout the weekend at the Preview Gallery at Santa Fe University of Art and Design (studio #38) and is underwritten by Barker Management. It is an opportunity for the public to view all the artists’ work and map out their weekend’s tour. Then all participating artists open their creative sanctuaries to the public on Saturday June 28 and Sunday June 29, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on both days. The public can explore the studios of jewelers, painters, sculptors and ceramists all in one weekend. Santa Fe Studio Tour officials describe the weekend as a “dynamic yet intimate total immersion in art where visitors can talk with the artists, experience their working environments and purchase art, all while enjoying the landscape of New Mexico, touring from one studio to the next!
“Santa Fe, one of America’s largest art marketplaces, is best known for its 250 art galleries throughout the city but the real inspiration, the creative energy, the daring design, explodes in the artist’s studio which is usually off limits to everyone except major collectors.”
