Santa Fe, N.M.—May 14, 2016—Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) announced that 175 graduates were celebrated at its commencement ceremony, held today, Saturday, May 14, at the Rosemarie Shellaberger Tennis Center on campus. The commencement address was delivered by renowned aural historian and honored Santa Fe Living Treasure, Jack Loeffler. Loeffler was presented with an honorary degree in recognition of his remarkable achievements and contributions to storytelling, as well as for his vision, spirit and intellectual curiosity during the ceremony.
In addition to Loeffler’s address, the graduation program featured student speaker Max Marriner (’16, Film), who wrote and hosted an award winning web series called REEL Talk that launched in November 2015, as well as musical performances by the Ash Wilhelm Quintet and students from the university’s Performing Arts Theatre Department. The class of 2016 celebrates 175 students who have completed or will complete their degree requirements between December 2015 and May 2016.
