Today’s Albuquerque Journal featured the SFUAD Contemporary Music Program:
“Some schools of music spend their time reproducing the sounds of the past – and that past usually means music composed by European Caucasians who have been dead for 100 years. Steve Paxton said his department is different. That’s why, if you go to hear concerts this fall by students in the Contemporary Music Department of the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, you might hear Indonesian gamelan or African drums, Balkan or funk, rock or jazz.”
