The Film Certificate program was developed by a dynamic team of experienced, credited, and award-winning Los Angeles-based entertainment industry professionals. In designing the program, we scrutinized every assignment and every course project for its value in terms of professional development and industry relevance. We brought in a range of specialists to help develop individual classes – directors weighed in on directing, editors on editing, etc. And we had two Senior Industry Advisors who remain constants throughout the entire process. They are:

Amanda Marks, Senior Industry Advisor

Amanda Marks is a producer and Key Art award-winning copywriter, with more than 10 years of experience in motion picture advertising working on the creative campaigns for hundreds of movies, including Wall-E, Juno, Little Miss Sunshine and Finding Nemo. She is currently the creative director of Deacon Entertainment, and recently served as a consulting producer on the Davis Guggenheim directed documentary Teach.

In the ‘90s, Amanda wrote for television for both ABC and MTV. Amanda has been heard on the award-winning radio program “This American Life” and has performed stand-up comedy at multiple venues in Los Angeles and New York City including The Comedy Store and The Improv. Currently she is actively engaged in the Los Angeles story-telling scene.

She holds a BA from Wesleyan University and was graduated with honors from that school’s film studies program.

Damon Lee, Senior Industry Advisor

Damon Lee has almost 20 years experience in the entertainment industry and a proven track record for creating acclaimed and commercially successful film and television projects. He is both the COO of AlrightTV – a YouTube backed web channel – and the CEO and founder of Deacon Entertainment, a Hollywood production company.

Theatrically, he executive produced Obsessed with Beyoncé and This Christmas, and he produced Undercover Brother for Universal ($100 million).
