The new century has not been kind to most photographers, with respect to the traditional avenues of income generation. The magazine, newspaper, and stock photography worlds in particular have been hard hit. One path forward has emerged, however, and photographer Blaustein calls it “The 21st Century Hustle.”
Jonathan Blaustein is an artist, writer, and educator based in Taos, New Mexico. He received his MFA in Photography from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Blaustein has exhibited his work widely in the U.S., and his photographs reside in several collections, such as the Library of Congress, the State of New Mexico, and the Brooklyn Museum. He also writes for the New York Times and A Photo Editor, an influential blog for the global photography industry.
