Exhibit opens with a reception on February 23, at the university’s Marion Center for Photographic Arts, and runs through April 7
Santa Fe, N.M., February 8, 2017 - Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) is pleased to partner with CENTER to host Global Perspectives: CENTER’s International Photographic Award Winners. The photography exhibit opens at SFUAD’s Marion Center for Photographic Arts on February 24 with an opening reception from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. The exhibit will run through April 7 and is open to public daily, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Marion Center for Photographic Arts is located on the SFUAD campus, at 1600 St. Michael’s Drive in Santa Fe, NM.
CENTER, founded in 1994, is a not-for-profit organization that honors, supports, and provides opportunities to gifted and committed photographers. The annual programs include the Project Launch, Project Development, Choice Awards, Santa Fe Prize, Excellence in Teaching Award, and Review Santa Fe.
The featured artists for the Global Perspectives exhibit include Angie Keller, Brittany M. Powell, Eric Kayne, Eva Fazzari, Jennifer Greenburg, Jennifer Little, Judy Gelles, Kelia Anne MacCluskey, Laura Pannack, Magda Biernat, Melissa Kaseman, and Patrick Willocq.
These artists witness and document several important environmental and social issues, including water in the American West, animal welfare, personal debt and the XL Keystone Pipeline. The award winners also explore personal and cultural themes in photographs that incorporate tableaux, vernacular snapshots and minimalist collage.
