Santa Fe, N.M.—April 15, 2014—The Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) Contemporary Music Program (CMP) will present several free ensemble concert performances beginning May 7. Leading up to the performances, students in jazz fusion band Ruder and the Shockwaves and the rock band Venus and The Lion will both perform as opening acts for the April 19 Living Colour concert held at the Shellaberger Tennis Center as part of the university’s Artists for Positive Social Change initiative.

Several CMP students will also highlight their work through a dance and video performance during the university’s Outdoor Vision Fest on Friday, May 2. CMP student composer Angelo Harmsworth will be working with visiting artist and choreographer Jocelyne Danchick on a performance by the Performing Arts Department’s dance majors and including contributions from several of Professor Brad Wolfley’s Film School students. The performance will be presented in three movements at 9:00 p.m., 9:20 p.m., and 9:40 p.m. Throughout the evening, Ableton Workshop students will collaborate with Film School students on live DJ/VJ performances featuring video creation and manipulation.
