Santa Fe, N.M.—April 17, 2015—Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) will present the fifth annual Outdoor Vision Fest™ (OVF) on Friday, May 1, from 8:45 to 10:45 p.m. OVF is a free, annual public event held at SFUAD’s Visual Arts Center that features environmental projections and outdoor art installations of design, animation, full motion video, video mapping, motion graphics and interactive multimedia created by SFUAD students. OVF 2014 drew several thousand students, faculty, staff and interested community residents to campus for a vibrant evening celebrating creativity. This year’s OVF is expected to beeven more powerful, featuring new interactive content and approximately 50 installations. OVF 2015 is self-guided, free and open to the public.

“This year marks the fifth outing for Outdoor Vision Fest, which has grown into a significant cultural civic event that showcases the cutting-edge work of our media and art students,” said Terry Borst, SFUAD screenwriting professor and one of the lead OVF organizers, along with faculty Brad Wolfley and Tom Miller. “This year’s OVF promises new surprises and explorations.”

OVF features work by SFUAD students across all departments. Among this year’s new additions will be “Simulacra,” a new dance/music/studio art/film performance and multimedia installation; brainwaves and theremins capturing audience input; a greater emphasis on “epic” projection mapping on architectural surfaces; and a live music and interactive media installation featuring The Maya Spectra and VJ Buran.

Last year, students who worked on OVF installations also had their work exhibited in Santa Fe’s currents festival, Art Silicon Valley, Art Basel Miami Beach, ArtFest 2014 and other venues. This year’s content will be further shared at several events, including ArtFest 2015 and the opening of Currents New Media 2015, a world-class new media exhibition held in Santa Fe this summer. Currents New Media is also a contributing partner for OVF 2015.

Food trucks will be on site selling delectable gourmet food. For more information about OVF, visit its Facebook page and videos on its Vimeo channel. Outdoor Vision Fest is currently nominated in the Santa Fe Reporter’s “Best of Santa Fe” Reader’s Poll in the Best Event or Festival category.
